Our Story
In August 2019, founder John Coe identified a critical gap in the Washington, DC real estate market: a lack of storytelling and insights for emerging professionals. He launched the Icons of DC Area Real Estate podcast—a platform designed to bridge the knowledge gap for young CRE professionals by featuring candid conversations with industry leaders.

What started as a podcast has evolved into a transformative community for early-career real estate professionals. Leveraging over 34 years of industry experience, John recognized the unique challenges faced by those just entering the commercial real estate landscape—the need for mentorship, networking, and strategic guidance.

Meet Our Founder
John Coe
John Coe is a 45-year real estate investment and finance professional dedicated to enhancing the profession by advocating for quality land use, fair dealings, and providing enthusiastic service to clients and other professionals. In every endeavor, he aims to offer thoughtful counsel regarding alternatives and direction.
John is a native of Detroit, MI and received a BA degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
